About Kate James
I was born in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, and grew up in the hills of south India, I worked on newspapers in rural Victoria, and I’m now an author and freelance editor based in Melbourne. I am not a life coach, a country singer or a spanking model. Not right now, anyway. Most of the (paid) work I do involves editing Lonely Planet guides. My first book, Women of the Gobi, is now in bookshops in Australia.
